Pascal Before & After

Factors Affecting Invisalign Cost

The actual cost will depend on several factors outlined below.

Complexity of Treatment

Your smile is unique, and your treatment plan will be tailored to provide the best results. The plan can depend on:

Severity of Dental Issues

If your teeth are only slightly crooked, treatment is more straightforward and cheaper. In comparison, treatment will cost a little more if you have significant problems affecting your bite.

Duration of Treatment

The duration of treatment is linked to the severity of the dental issues requiring correction. The more complex these issues, the greater the number of aligners required to complete treatment.

Additional Treatments

You may need additional treatments to help ensure excellent results, which can increase costs.

For example, these could include Invisalign attachments, small “handles” of tooth-colored composite resin attached to your teeth for the aligners to grab onto. These attachments help improve the quality of tooth movements.

If teeth are significantly overcrowded, tooth extractions may provide a better treatment outcome. The additional space from removing teeth can allow our Invisalign dentist to create a more aesthetically appealing and perfectly aligned smile.

However, we only recommend removing healthy teeth when absolutely necessary.

Is Invisalign More Expensive Than Braces?

The average cost of Invisalign is similar to braces, even though each system works quite differently. As discussed earlier, it is difficult to provide a cost range, but most patients will spend around $5,000. It all depends on your treatment plan and the number of aligners required.

Some people who only require minor tooth movements, for example, if you only have issues affecting your front teeth, will spend as little as $2,000 since only a few aligners are needed. You will need more aligners if you have more complicated problems, and your costs could be around $7,000.

What Is Included in the Plan?

We can provide a complimentary Invisalign consultation, including a video consultation. An initial chat with our dentist will help you discover if Invisalign is right for you and if you wish to proceed further. Diagnostic tests are needed to evaluate your bite and devise your custom plan.

Your Invisalign plan will include consultations with our Invisalign dentist, your custom-made aligners, and an initial set of retainers. The plan is backed by Invisalign’s decades of experience and technologies.

You can contact our dental office any time during or after your treatment if you need help and advice.

Regular Checkups with Our Invisalign Dentist

During your treatment, you will need to return to our dental office regularly for checkups. These are relatively quick but are essential.

You will have access to our Invisalign dentist’s expertise, so you can ask anything you wish about wearing your aligners and how to get the most out of your treatment. We encourage you to ask questions so you understand your treatment fully.

Custom-Made Aligners

Each of your aligner sets is individually made to fit your mouth precisely. Custom-made aligners ensure treatment is more comfortable. Better fitting aligners provide excellent results.

Invisalign’s Experience and Technologies

Invisalign is the best-known aligner system worldwide, and with good reason. When you choose Invisalign, you are paying for their expertise, research, and development over the last few decades.

This research and development continues even today as the company refines the treatment process further and expands the range of orthodontic problems that are treatable with the aligners.

Retainers

Your retainers are an essential part of your treatment plan. They ensure that your teeth remain in their new positions while settling down. You will need to wear your retainers almost continuously after completing treatment and should be prepared to wear them regularly for years to come.

Invisalign retainers are durable, but you will almost certainly need to buy additional sets over the years.

Insurance Coverage

If you have good dental insurance, your Invisalign aligners may be covered similarly to traditional braces treatments. It depends on your plan, but your insurance may pay at least part of the cost of your Invisalign treatment. Generally, Invisalign tends to be reimbursed at around 50% up to a maximum amount specified in your plan.

How to Check Your Insurance Coverage?

Our practice accepts most dental insurance plans. Please talk to our dental team if you are unsure about your insurance coverage. We have a great deal of experience in submitting claims and may be able to help you figure it out or contact your insurance provider to check for you.

Alternatively, you could contact your insurance company directly for clarification. Questions to ask include:

  • Does my plan cover orthodontic treatment like Invisalign?
  • If so, what is the percentage?
  • Does coverage have any limitations like age or a maximum dollar amount?
  • Some insurance providers have a lifetime limit on how much they will pay for orthodontic treatment, so ask if there is a cap on the dollar amount of coverage.

Finance Options

Financing allows you to receive the Invisalign treatment you desire without waiting, and you can spread the payments affordably. We offer finance through CareCredit for eligible patients. With this scheme, you can use your CareCredit card to pay for treatment and out-of-pocket expenses not covered by dental insurance.

Health Care Spending Accounts (HSCAs)

Your  HCSA is a health benefits bank account where you can save money to pay out-of-pocket healthcare expenses like Invisalign. It is advantageous as you don’t pay tax on the money put into your HCSA.

If you intend to use this scheme to pay for Invisalign, please talk to us first or contact your benefits manager. You may be able to pay for your Invisalign treatment, then claim it back or pay our office directly.

Exploring All Finance and Payment Options

There are numerous ways to ensure you can receive Invisalign treatment while spreading the costs comfortably. It is also worth remembering that the costs might be less than you think, depending on your treatment plan.

You can gain a reasonable idea of the price of treatment after your initial consultation. We can provide you with a firm quote after completing diagnostics and preparing your custom plan.
